Recreation and Culture
From bird watching on our shoreline to hiking along the scenic trails that link our Village with the neighbouring Provincial Park, Wabamun is a nature lover's paradise. Our Village has over 62 acres of open space presently designated as school grounds or for public recreational use.
What sets Wabamun apart from all the other Alberta lakes? We offer open water all year round, due to the ethermal output of the power plant. That means not only can you fish in open water the entire year, but the lake is also open to watercraft an average of two extra months per year. It's no wonder boating enthusiasts have set up numerous yacht and sailing clubs around the lake.
