Village Information
Education. Wabamun is served by both public and separate school systems. Public schools are administered through the Parkland School system, with Wabamun School serving kindergarten to grade nine students. The Catholic school system is administered through the Evergreen Roman Catholic School Division. Bus service is available for both public and separate school children to several choices and areas for grades 1 to 12.
The Village of Wabamun is 45 minutes from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, 50 minutes from the University of Alberta, and within a 40 minute drive to Grant MacEwan Community College.
Protective Services. Wabamun has a large contingent of Volunteer Firefighters, who also serve an area in Parkland County. The department utilizes fire hydrants through the Village and can draw upon 340,000 gallons of treated water for firefighting purposes. Firefighters can also draw upon the lake for water. Two fire pumpers, a tank truck, a rescue van, and in the summer a mini-pumper are available for firefighting. The insurance rating for Wabamun is the best rate given to municipalities with volunteer members.
While open water year round is unique, it also can cause concern in the winter. Wabamun has an ice rescue team and a full contingent of water rescue craft, including a 19’ Boston Whaler, a 12’ Zodiac and a Seadoo. This rescue equipment is available year round and also services other lakes and rivers in the area.

similar size.
Hawkers & Pedlars Licence
Definition: Any person who goes house to house selling or offering for sale any merchandise or service, or both, to any person and who is not a licensed wholesale or retailer in the municipality and not having a licensed permanent place of business in the municipality.
Requirement for License: No person shall, within the Village, carry on or operate any business as a hawker or pedlar unless he holds a valid and subsisting license to conduct such business.
Cost:
Non-resident, adult person, the sum of $25.00 per day or $200.00 per year.
Resident, adult person, the sum of $25.00 per year.
